WKU world championships 2026
Many congratulations to brothers Henry and Oscar who had an amazing week in Berlin competing in kumite, kata and teams. We now have TWO WORLD CHAMPIONS. Henry won two gold, two silver and two bronze medals. Oscar won one gold, and two bronze medals. Brilliant success and dedication pays off from their hard work and preparation.

Once again a well attended course with twenty two students dealing with the hot weather, most of them training for two hours. Topic was impact techniques on the pad, self defence, take downs and finishing with competition techniques. Very well done everybody, looking forward to our courses in 2027.

WKU British Championships 03/05/26
Many congratulations to brothers Oscar and Henry who won 5 medals between them. At the British championships in Wolverhampton. We have a new British champion Oscar, first in kumite in his own category, then silver in a category above. Followed by bronze in Kata. Henry got silver in his own category in kumite, then bronze in a category above. Very well done, you both deserve all the recognition for the training that you do. The club is very proud of you both.

Many thanks to 27 students including six black belts that worked very hard. Topic of the two hour course was impact, technique, speed and focus. Using strike pads and focus mitts, also the students focused on self defence and competition sparring.

WKU inter club @ Swadlincote
Fantastic news from Henry and Oscar, the boys won one gold and three silver medals. Plus Oscar was one of the best competitors of the day and collected a trophy. This is great news for the boys and us as a club.

World Karate Union open 25/01/26
